Horses for Heroes Program - "Freedom Fridays"
Freedom Fridays is a weekly, ground based group session that is free of charge to Active Duty Military; Veterans of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard; Police Officers; Fire Fighters; or Emergency Medical Personnel.
Participants Can Experience :
◦ Introduction to the Horse and Safety
◦ Various Aspects of Horsemanship - Grooming/Tacking/Physical Care.
◦ Groundwork - Using Aids to Walk Both On and Off a Lead Line
◦ Building a Relationship for 'Liberty Work'
◦ Engaging the Horse as a Team Member and Establishing Trust, Respect and Boundaries
◦ Forming New Friendships that Enhance Quality of Life
Our program is open year round (major holidays observed and closed during inclement weather). Sessions are once a week and run for 6 weeks, with a week off to allow for our horses to have time to refresh and have uninterrupted pasture time. Depending on available space, a new participant can be accepted into the program at any time for the remainder of a session block. Session times are flexible and will be coordinated by the Program Director.
Registration Details: Prior to enrolling in our program, an evaluation will be scheduled by the instructor. This will help determine the appropriate session and participant need. Please email contact@fuzzyfacesrefuge.org to schedule your intake session. Please have all paperwork at the red button below completed and brought with for you first session!
Additional Session Info: This program is provided free of charge to active military and veterans, as well as public servants. Participants should wear long pants and closed toed shoes (work boots, cowboy boots, paddock boots etc.).

Veteran's Work Day At The Ranch!
